Explorers
The Village Explorers is a fun and exciting environment that caters for the needs of toddlers.
The life of a toddler is ‘all go’, and in this area we aim to provide young children with the opportunity to explore, investigate and make discoveries. We believe that a child’s work is play, and this environment has been designed with imaginative play and physical challenge in mind. With a variety of surface materials, the Explorers area is divided into a series of rooms including a shell beach, climbing rocks and poles, sand and water play, a mud pit, grassy mound and family play area. The classroom is well resourced with ample equipment that inspires spontaneous play, individual investigation and small group activity.
Toddlerhood is a time of growth and change, and it is our aim to extend and support children to express themselves clearly, to initiate and maintain relationships and to guide them towards independence and social competence. Their learning is further supported through care routines where children are empowered to take an active role as they move towards developing their own self-help and self-care skills.
